Well Done

          Thou Good And Faithful Servant

Rev. J. H. Battle

Forty Years Of Faithful Service At Peek's Chapel

Pastor Battle is a native of Union  Point, Georgia. He was born into a Christian family, and at the age of 9 he was baptized. He is married to Mary Battle and they have 2 daughters; Glenda, and Teresa, a son in law Chris Todd and 2 granddaughters; Joy and Zoe. His father was a dedicated Deacon in the ministry.

Under the leadership of Pastor R.T. Stevens he was ordained in 1971.  He was the pastor at Union Springs Baptist Church and Greater Level Baptist Church. He presently serves as the faithful Pastor of Peek's Chapel Baptist Church , where he has served for the past 40 years.  A great many 'Sons & Daughters of the House' have matured under his ministry.  His primary passion in the ministry is to help people and bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Under his ministry many people have prayed the prayer of salvation and were 'born again' into the kingdom of God. One of his favorite scriptures is Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

On August 4, 2020 our beloved Pastor J.H. Battle left us to take his eternal rest. He is truly missed by the Peek's Chapel Baptist Church Family. We will never forget his dedicated and faithful service to this church and community. May God continue to bless the Battle Family.

His Core Values  Were:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

                                                                                   John 3:16

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: (it is) the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

                                                                                   Ephesians 2:8-9

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

                                                                                   2 Chronicles 7:14
